Who We Are

About us

The PropTech Angel Investor Network (PAIN) is focused on building and supporting the growth of an effective angel and early stage funding proptech ecosystem across Australia.

In steering the proptech conversation, our mission is twofold: to champion the seamless integration of technology across real estate, property, and construction, and to drive the growth of the property technology marketplace.

We lead the charge in supporting widespread proptech adoption, fostering education and awareness, and creating essential connections between proptech innovators and industry stakeholders. Our vision is to instill confidence within the property industry, empowering them to embrace and invest in cutting-edge innovations.

From property and construction institutions to proptech suppliers, agents, owners, sellers, buyers, investors, and tenants, we are dedicated to fostering an environment where innovation thrives, standards are upheld, and the proptech community flourishes.

We specialise in delivering quality investment opportunities tailored to the distinctive needs of the property industry.

Why property?

The PropTech Angel Investor Network recognises a unique and pressing opportunity to channel angel investments into ventures that benefit Australians. Our emphasis on the property technology domain stems from the belief that innovation within real estate is integral to shaping the future of our infrastructure and environment.

By concentrating on this sector, we aim to foster groundbreaking solutions, propel technological advancements, and strategically position angel investors at the forefront of the property industry’s evolution. This initiative not only fuels innovation within the property sector but also contributes to broader economic development, job creation, and the cultivation of wealth on a national scale.

Whilst there is no universally accepted definition of Angel Investing, it is generally understood as the practice of high-net-worth individuals investing their own time and money in new businesses, with the goal of profiting from their long term growth.

Startups around the world often face funding gaps between what friends and families can offer and what the banks, Venture Capitalists and Private Equity Firms are willing to contribute.  This gap is often referred to as the “Valley of Death” and can be nearly impossible to traverse.  Angel Investors can fill this void by supplying additional rounds of funding to growing companies.

Further, research shows that startups value the expertise and mentorship that angels provide as much as, if not more than, the financing itself.

Pitches are held monthly, with an event being held in all states and territories around Australia by mid 2024.  Pitch Events will be held in a different locations each month.  Annually, events will be held from February to October, with a Gala Summit to be held in November each year.
